BSHOF Hosts 1980s Sports Reunion

On Thursday, May 8, 2025, a group of former athletes and coaches gathered for a heartfelt 1980s Sports Reunion—an evening filled with memories, laughter, and powerful stories. These teammates and friends, who once shared locker rooms and hard-fought victories, came together decades later to reflect on how sports shaped their lives on and off the field. The program, moderated by BSHOF Director, Bob Freimuth, included St. Paul athlete Tom Lagasse, St. Paul coach Tony Lodovico, BEHS athletes Stacy Rivoira and Charles “Chinky” Driscoll, BCHS coach Phil Pirog, and American Legion coach Tom Burns.

Panelist discussed their high school rivalries and lifelong friendships, while praising the coaches who modeled how to play and coach with passion and humility. When reflecting on their success, panelists emphasized Bristol as a sports town and the important of feeder programs – the Boys club, Little League, Middle School Intramurals – on creating well-rounded athletes.
