Armand ‘‘Bud’’ Choiniere played football at Bristol High, as a member of the Rhein-Main Air Force European championship team in 1951 and semi-pro for the Middletown Warriors.
He was a coach of the Park Street School baseball team and in the McCabe-Waters Little League. He helped with the practice sessions for Bristol Special Olympics for 14 years.
He played baseball for a number of area teams during the 1940s and played basketball in the Bristol Boys Club Senior Basketball League in the mid-1950s.
He was a founder of Midget Football in Bristol and served the league for a number of years. He umpired in the Bristol Slo-Pitch Softball League for 12 years and was an active member of the Central Connecticut Approved Football Officials for more than 40 years and served as its president in 1988. He has officiated in two state scholastic football championships and several small college games in the state.
In 2018, he was inducted into the CT Football Officials Hall of Fame.
