She graduated Bristol Eastern in 1988 where she played multiple sports. She was a member of the 1987 Class L state championship basketball team and won all-league recognition in the sport.
She went on to play four years of basketball and one year of softball at Eastern Connecticut State University. Championship basketball teams she played on were numerous, including the NCAA Div. III Sectional champion Final Four qualifier in ‘92. In her only season of softball, ECSU was a NCAA Div. III Northeast Regional champion national tournament qualifier.
Among college honors passed her way in basketball included being named NCAA Div. III Kodak All-American Honorable Mention in ‘91. She was named Little East Conference Player of the Year that season and finished her career at ECSU as their second leading scorer in women’s basketball history with 1,300 points. She was inducted into the ECSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010.
