Beth Kauke Lafferty, a 1980 graduate of John J. Jennings School, went on to play four sports at Bristol Eastern, volleyball, basketball, track and softball.
She was All-Conference in volleyball, track and basketball while Honorable Mention All-State in the latter. The volleyball team she played on were state runners-up in 1983 and the school’s basketball team won the state title in 1984.
She went on to participate in basketball, softball and tennis at the University of New Haven as a 1988 graduate. She was selected to the New England Collegiate Conference team for softball in 1987.
She ended up with a .299 career batting average at New Haven and was among the all-time leaders in doubles and triples. She won softball team MVP honors in 1987 while batting .319.
