Chris Ghiglia captained the 1988 Bristol Eastern boys soccer team, setting several Eastern goal-scoring records. He recorded 63 career goals, 23 single-season goals, and five goals in one game. He was named All-State in 1987 and 1988, and All-New England in 1988. In addition, Chris was named Eastern’s male Scholar-Athlete in 1989. He lettered in soccer at Division I Central Connecticut State University in 1990.

In 2003, Chris coached the Waterford Soccer Club U14 girls’ team to the indoor state championship. During this time, he was also the assistant coach at Waterford High. The latter team went 16-0 in 2004, and the JV team went unbeaten the following year. He coached St. Bernard’s varsity between 2006-2013, winning four ECC Division titles and leading the program to three State Championship Final Fours, including the 2008 title game.

He was named 2008 Coach of the Year by the Norwich Bulletin and is currently the girls varsity coach at Waterford High, earning his 100th career win in 2014. In 2015 his Waterford High School Girls Varsity Soccer team clinched the 2015 ECC Division title.
