Chris D’Amato graduated from Bristol Eastern in 1994 after serving as a captain in both basketball and baseball. He played two years of Bristol American Legion baseball and one year with the Bristol Nighthawks in the New England Collegiate Baseball League. He went on to play in two College World Series with Eastern Connecticut State University, winning both regional and national MVP honors in 1998, the year he served as co-captain of ECSU’s national championship team.

In returning to Bristol Eastern to teach, he coached the girls softball team from 2004-2012, compiling a 177-38 record. The Lancers made three State Championship Finals appearances and won the state championship in 2007. He has been a solid role model for students and played a key role in sports-related funding for the school.

In 2018 the Bristol Tramps honored Chris with the Charles “Chuck” McCarthy award.
