Dave Cichon, a multi-sports athlete at Bristol Eastern High in the mid-1960s has been called one of the best baseball players to come out of Bristol. He was twice selected MVP of the State American Legion Baseball Tournament, was likened to Babe Ruth, the all-time great pitcher-turned-slugger of the New York Yankees decades ago, and he established many records through the years at different levels of play, including college, both as a pitcher and batter.
He played minor league ball for both the St. Louis and Philadelphia organizations, but injuries halted a promising professional career.
In recent years he starred in the over-35 Connecticut Men’s Senior Baseball League, copping various individual honors and being a member of championship Bristol-represented teams.
In 2017 he was honored as the recipient of the Chuck McCarthy Award from the Bristol Tramps.Watch The Video
