Dave “Rap” Raponey played Little League Baseball, Midget Football and basketball at the Bristol Boys Club.  He captained the basketball and baseball teams at St. Anthony’s School, leading the team in scoring and batting average, respectively.

He lettered in football, where he led the team in rushing his senior season, basketball and baseball at Bristol Central during the mid-to-late 1960s, earning all-league honors in the latter three times.

He went on to play basketball and baseball at Mattatuck Community College before playing on Bristol semi-pro baseball teams between 1973-1984.

During the 1970s, he played on four flag football championship teams for the Sportsmen while working as assistant basketball coach at St. Paul High School.

A member of the IAABO National Organization of approved basketball officials, he also coached Pony League in Bristol between 2000-2004.

He became a member of the Bristol teams in the Connecticut Men’s Senior Baseball League in 1985 and was still playing when inducted into the Bristol Sports Hall of Fame.
