A three sport athlete at Bristol Eastern, Class of 1971, James, whose maiden is Wilson, was the first female athlete in the city to earn a varsity sweater.

Currently a physical education teacher in the Bristol school system, she is a former world and national champion in pistol-shooting.

She’s only the second woman ever to have a gun named in her honor by Colt Firearms, the first being Annie Oakley (1860-1926).
