Wherever Albert Emil Jabs went, he left his mark.
In Bristol, it was with athletics, at Immanuel Lutheran and Bristol High schools, the latter as a member of the Class of 1951. A multi-sports participant, he is best recalled for his prowess in basketball. He also took part in scholastic soccer, football, and track and field. He was a three-year starting center in basketball for the “Maroon and White” and served as captain his final season.
He set a new school scoring record, and as a senior, received the “Thomas M. Monahan MVP Award” while chosen for All-State basketball first team.
Prior to this, he was placed on the All-State second team as a junior. He went on to play basketball and compete in track and field at Valparaiso University.
He became a college professor and was recognized numerous times for his work in benefiting mankind.
