Harry “Whitey” Dudzinski first made headlines playing basketball for St. Stanislaus School, as a member of the class of 1950.

He went on to star in the sports as an All-State pick playing for Bristol High School. While there, he set the CIAC Class A State Basketball Tournament single-game scoring mark of 27 points, later broken by Weaver’s Johnny Egan, later an NBA player.

He starred in the sport in college, first at St. Michael’s College in Vermont, then at Springfield’s A.I.C.

He set scoring marks in local basketball leagues and helped lead St. Stan’s to the 1960 New England Senior Basketball CYO title while setting a single-game tournament record of 39 points int eh title game.

As a softball player in the Bristol Fast Pitch league, he was an outstanding hitter and first baseman. He also set a high-triple mark in the Bristol Industrial Bowling League in 1964.

He’s coached both Little League and Pony League baseball in town.

In 2015 he was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame.
