A 1929 graduate of Bristol High where he played both baseball and basketball, he went on to play basketball for the Maple Ends and the Suicide Club and football for the both the Maple End and West End teams.
As a coach following his playing days, he mentored the New Departure girls basketball teams of the 1930 and 1940s and the Netti’s Drive-In All-Stars during the 1960s.
He bowled for the Bristol Police Department in the Bus/Pro League and at Wallace Barnes in the Inter-Department League.
He golfed at the Chippanee Country Club and was on the Bristol Police Pistol team.
He was the organizer of both the Police Athletic League and Soap Box Derby in Bristol during the 1940s and 1950s.
