Back To Inductee List

Born in South Windsor, he was a graduate of East Hartford High School in 1923 and Holy Cross in 1927.

From 1943-1984 while teaching in Bristol, he worked as an official and served as faculty advisor at both Bristol and Bristol Eastern high schools.  He served as an officer of the old CCIL, worked summers as supervisor for the park department playgrounds and was softball scorer for the former “Dusty League”.

When the Red Sox had their AA affiliate here during the 1970s to early 1980s, he opened his doors to the players.

Among the awards/proclamations passed his way came by way of the Bristol Tramps, the Connecticut High School Coaches Association and the City of Bristol.

John was a man who loved sports statistics before most people followed them and his greatest joy was helping young men and women succeed in life through sports.  He was a special friend, teacher and consultant to the children of Bristol for 45 years.
