A graduate of Bristol Eastern in 1989, she played four years of both basketball and volleyball and two years of softball at the school.
She was a member of both the 1987 state championship basketball and volleyball teams at the school. She earned all-conference honors in basketball in each of her four years while twice in volleyball. She was named all-state in basketball her senior season and honorable mention all-state in volleyball twice.
An honorable mention All-American by two separate organizations her senior season, she was selected the state’s top female scholastic player in 1989. She once held the city’s career basketball scoring record for girls with 1,563 points.
She went on to play at UConn where she was a member of its 1991 Final four team. She was selected to the 1990 Big East Rookie and the 1992 Big East All-Tournament teams.
