She was the first female in the city to play organized grammar school baseball, doing so at the former West Woods School in both 1979 and 1980.

She later featured as an All-State softball pitcher at Bristol Eastern High and All-American at Adelphi University before sharing multiple world championships with teammates of the famed Brakettes of Stratford softball team.
