Michael Beaudoin was a standout baseball player at Bristol Eastern High, for the Bristol American Legion, and at Fairfield University where he received All-New England and All-Tournament honors.
Among the championship teams he played on were the 1974 Legion state and regional champions and the Crown Oil Slo-Pitch Softball League teams of 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001. The 1997 entry won the state title
As a Legion player, he led the 1975 team in both hitting with a .384 average and pitching with a 1.29 ERA. He set a New England college record for RBI when he recorded 44 in 35 games for Fairfield University in 1979. That same year he also tied the school’s single-season home run record of eight.
He was the MVP in the Greater Hartford Twilight League in 1977 and was inducted into the Fairfield University Hall of Fame in 1987. He coached baseball at CCSU before moving to freshman baseball at Bristol Eastern in 1994.
