Born in Bristol, Mike Morin played football, baseball and wrestled for Bristol Eastern High School. He was a co-captain and all-conference pick in both football and wrestling and was named class athlete in 1964.

He went on to play football and baseball at Bates College and earned All-New England UPI honors as a senior in football while also serving as a co-captain of the team.

As co-captain of the Sportsman Cafe team in the New Britain Flag Football League he led his teams to four consecutive titles. He was also co-founder of the Bristol Track Club and helped to organize its annual Mum-A-Thon races for many years.

He enjoyed a long career as a teacher and coach in the Bristol school system and was co-sponsor of the Northeast Middle School ski club. He served more than 20 years as an assistant football coach at Bristol Eastern High School including the state championship team of 1988.

Mike was also the 2006 recipient of the prestigious Raymond “Harp” Broderick Award from the Bristol Tramps for active involvement in Bristol sports activities.
