Norman “Foo” Fournier played soccer, basketball and baseball at Bristol High and was baseball captain in 1948. He was the winning pitcher when Bristol High School won CCIL championships in 1946 and 1948. The 1948 win came by way of a no-hitter.
He pitched and won the first night game at Muzzy Field for Bristol High School. In his senior year, he won six games, tossing 47 and two-thirds innings and giving up 18 hits .He helped the Bristol American Legion team win the Hartford County title in 1947. He later played semi-pro ball with several local teams.
He was a coach in the Edgewood Little League as well as the Parks Department Pony and Colt leagues. He guided the Edgewood Pirates to a championship in 1961. He has been described by players as the best coach they ever had.
