Phil Lewis, a 1962 graduate of Bristol Eastern, played three sports at the school, football, basketball and baseball.
He was all-league in baseball in 1961 and was MVP as a member of the Bristol American Legion baseball team.
Following high school, he played baseball in the San Francisco Giants minor league system, reaching the AAA level when an injury prevented his chance of major league play. He played alongside Bobby Bonds and many future major league stars during this time.
He also played football in the Atlantic Coast Football League and coached in the NECL while scouting for the Giants.
In giving back to society, Phil was involved with the Albany Chapter of NFL Alumni Caring for Kids, Back Field in Motion in Nashville, Coors People Pro-Am in Oakland, the Clifton Davis events in North Carolina, and many other events to raise funds for needy children around the country.
