Back To Inductee List

Richard Kowalczyk attended Bingham School before entering Bristol High as a member of the class of 1954.

He was captain of the school’s baseball team and while in school, played three years of Junior American Legion baseball between 1949-1951.

Each of those three seasons brought Bristol’s Post 2 a state championship.

An infielder, he went on to play both second and third base at Nichols College as a 1956 graduate. He also played basketball at Nichols and because of his athletic prowess, was posthumously inducted into the Nichols Hall of Fame in 1993.

He had coached the American Legion baseball team in Bristol and became active in sports such as football, basketball, tennis and golf as an adult. He’s been recalled often, as a popular athlete, businessman and individual.
