Roland Dumont was co-captain of the Bristol High football team his senior year while also a basketball and baseball player. He was class president twice and president of the student council his senior year in 1950-1951. After graduation he attended Brown University.
He took these leadership attributes into his adult life as a successful businessman who was a sponsor and benefactor of Bristol sports. He sponsored Little League and youth sports such as softball and football while a founding coach and originator of Midget Football in Bristol. He provided financial support to the Dumont Family Charities Fund at the Main Street Foundation which was organized to help disadvantaged youth in the Bristol area.
A longtime supporter of St. Paul High School and its sports for over 40 years, among his contributions was funding capital improvements to the school’s athletic fields. In 2008, he was inducted into the St. Paul Catholic High School’s Ring of Honor.
