A Bristol native and 1988 Bristol Eastern graduate, Stacy was a 4-year participant in volleyball, basketball, and tennis. She was a 3-year varsity starter and senior captain in all 3 sports. She was a two-time state champion, in basketball her junior year and volleyball her senior year.
After graduating, Stacy went on to Stonehill College where she was a 4-year starter on the volleyball team. As a senior, she was named captain and selected to the Northeast 10 All-Conference team.
She would continue her athletic career as a volleyball coach at Bristol Eastern for 23 years, the last 13 as the varsity head coach. She was an assistant coach on the 2005 State Championship team. Then, in her first season as varsity coach, went 25-0 and won the Class L State Championship in 2006. In those 13 seasons, her teams made it to the state tournament quarterfinals or better 11 times, won 12 CCC South Championships, 4 CCC Tournament Championships, and 2 CIAC Class L Championships, in 2006 and 2012.
She produced 46 All-Conference players, 16 All-State players, and one Hartford Courant Player of the Year. She had an overall record of 248-56, posting a 143-5 record in CCC South matches. She went undefeated in the CCC South for her final 8 seasons, winning her last 90 matches.
Stacy capped off her coaching career in a very special way when she coached her daughter Aliana for her final 3 seasons. Aliana led the state of Connecticut in assists and aces as a senior, was an All-State player, and was the first and only Bristol Eastern volleyball player ever selected as Hartford Courant Player of the Year.Watch The Video
