He played McCabe-Waters Little League baseball between 1953-57, where he earned all-star status in his last two seasons and pitched in the state finals in 1957.
He played Pony League in 1958 before going on to play multiple sports at Bristol Eastern and earning varsity letters in four separate sports, three each in basketball and baseball, two in soccer and one in football.
He played Bristol American Legion baseball for five years, two as a captain, and was a member of the state championship team in 1962. He played Senior League Boys Club basketball, Slo-Pitch softball, and baseball in the Greater Hartford Twilight Baseball League.
He coached the Bristol Cassins semi-pro baseball team and refereed in both the CYO basketball and Bristol Boys Club Senior Leagues.
