Bristol Girls Little League Softball results announced – May 16, 2014.
The Tigers overcame good pitching by a Wallingford Studio 5 team to win 9-2. Eric Girard pitched a complete game and recorded 14 strikeouts while giving up three hits over six innings. Riley Giblin and Grace D’Amato each had bases loaded triples to lead the offense. Eric Girard, MacKenzie Bonville, McKenzie Lewis and Destinee Friss each had hits in the game. Mckenzie Lewis pitched well against New Britain, recording four strikeouts in three innings. Eric Girard retired the next nine consecutive batters with seven strikeouts to close out the game. Girard, Makenzie Bonville, and Riley Giblin led the Tigers offense. Erin Girard only faced 10 Meriden Meslin Dentistry batters in three innings of work, retiring eight by strikeout in a 24-5 victory. McKenzie Lewis recorded two strikeouts to close out the game’s last inning. Riley Giblin, Emily Ericson, Grace D’Amato and Makenzie Bonville each recorded hits to lead the Tigers offense to accompany 20 walks given up by Meriden pitching. ********************************************************************************************** Emily Marquis belted a grand slam to help Pride to a 20-4 win over the Bandits. Gabbie Schinkel had a RBI double and RBI single while Kayla Beaulieu had two hits and scored three times. Ashley Parker, Gloria Bachand, Jerrica Rivera, Gwen Torreso, Aliana Rivoira and Olivia Darby each had a hit. Rivoira was the winning pitcher striking out seven. Paige Manifico and Alison Grozik had a hit for the Bandits. Brook Dorsio pitched well in the losing effort. Olivia Darby pitched a complete game, tossing a seven hitter with six strikeouts in leading the Pride to a 20-3 win over Meriden. On offense, Darby had a two run RBI single and Kayla Beaulieu had a double as both players scored four times. Aliana Rivoira had an RBI single while Gwen Torreso, Jerrica Rivera and Priya Aggarwal each had an outstanding games as a catcher making several nice plays on the field. Gabbie Schinkel pitched a one-hitter and struck out seven to leade the Pride to a 19-6 win over Meriden. Ashley Parker, Olivia Darby, and Schinkel each had a RBI single. Gwen Torreso scored three times, Pryia Aggarwal, Zoe Lowe, Alexia Furniss and Torresso played well defensively.
