Bristol Comes Together for Jensen: A Team IMPACT Night at Trinity College
This was a night to remember. Through Team IMPACT, Jensen officially signed his letter of intent with the Trinity College Men’s Ice Hockey, becoming a full member of the team. Team IMPACT connects children facing serious illness or disability with college athletic teams, creating multi-year relationships built on belonging, resilience, and shared experiences. What happened here wasn’t symbolic—it was real. From the words spoken by coaches and players, to the signing itself, to the final team cheer, this night showed how powerful sports can be when they’re rooted in community and heart. Welcome to the team, Jensen. This is what belonging looks like.

Joe McGinn Award Video

The Joe McGinn Award: A Legacy of Dedication and Friendship
Joe McGinn was more than just a UConn basketball team manager—he was a beloved friend, a tireless worker, and a cornerstone of the program’s spirit. For years, he dedicated himself to supporting the team, earning the deep respect of players and coaches alike, especially Hall of Fame Coach Jim Calhoun.
In 1999, just weeks before UConn’s historic first national championship, Joe passed away, leaving a void in the Husky family. When Coach Calhoun climbed the ladder to cut down the championship nets, he left the final string hanging in Joe’s honor, saying, “Joey, this is for you.”
To ensure his legacy lived on, UConn established the Joe McGinn Award, given annually to someone who exemplifies Joe’s unwavering dedication, work ethic, and love for the game. More than just an award, it stands as a lasting tribute to the impact one person can have on a team and a community.
